Baghpat (UP) Jun 18 (PTI) Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) president Jayant Chaudhary on Wednesday praised the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, saying the people trust Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath more than Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav on the matter.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event in Khekra, Baghpat, Chaudhary commented, "The people re-elected Yogi Adityanath as chief minister because he prioritised law and order. The chief minister is serious and sensitive about this issue." "If you put Akhilesh Yadav's face on one side and Yogi ji's face on the other and ask people, you'll see whom the public trusts more. There's a reason why the government has been elected repeatedly. The biggest reason is the improvement in security." He also thanked Adityanath and his government for the recently concluded police recruitment process, saying it was conducted fairly.
Earlier in the day, the Rajya Sabha MP inaugurated a newly constructed mini-stadium at the Gandhi Inter College premises in Khekra. Addressing a public gathering, Chaudhary said sports facilities in villages and towns should be as good as they are in the cities.
"Sports instills discipline and confidence," he said. "Our priority is that youth in villages and towns also get the same facilities available in big cities." Chaudhary also highlighted ongoing efforts in the education sector, citing the upgradation of Mavi Kalan village's high school to an inter-college.
"Education and sports are two strong pillars to empower the youth," he said.
He said that efforts are underway to connect youth with self-employment and job opportunities through training.
