Jharkhand: Brown sugar worth Rs 60 lakh seized, 2 arrested

Chatra (Jharkhand), Jun 29 (PTI) Two people have been arrested and 286 gm of brown sugar has been seized from their possession in Jharkhand's Chatra district, police said on Sunday.

The accused, identified as Abhimanyu Kumar Sao (20) and Nitesh Kumar (19), were arrested during a drive near a football ground in Gidhaur police station area on Saturday evening, they said.

Chatra Superintendent of Police (SP) Sumit Kumar Agarwal said the estimated market price of the seized brown sugar would be around Rs 60 lakh.

He said an electronic weighing machine and five mobile phones were also seized from their possession. PTI COR SAN ACD
