Jharkhand: Ganja worth Rs 4.2 lakh seized, 2 arrested

Dhanbad (Jharkhand), Jun 22 (PTI) Two persons were arrested and ganja worth Rs 4.2 lakh was seized from their possession at Dhanbad railway station in Jharkhand, police said on Sunday.

The two persons, identified as Sawan Kumar (26) and Shambhu Paswan (25), are residents of Bihar's Nalanda district.

They were on their way to Uttar Pradesh to deliver the consignment of 28 kg of marijuana after procuring it in Odisha's Angul district, Dhanbad Sadar police station in-charge R N Thakur said.

Acting on a tip-off that the duo were travelling on Bhubaneswar-Dhanbad special train with two bags containing ganja, a special team was constituted and they were nabbed in assistance with GRP and RPF, he added. PTI COR SAN ACD
