Justice Paul appointed chief justice of Calcutta High Court

New Delhi, Jan 14 (PTI) Justice Sujoy Paul was on Wednesday appointed as the chief justice of the Calcutta High Court.

He has been officiating as the chief justice of that HC since October 2025.

His name was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium for elevation on January 9.

Justice Paul hails from the Madhya Pradesh High Court. He was appointed as a judge of the Madhya Pradesh HC in May 2011 and will retire on June 20, 2026, on attaining the age of 62 years. PTI NAB RHL
