New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday condoled the loss of lives in a bridge collapse incident in Gujarat's Vadodara and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families.
She also prayed for the quick recovery of those injured.
Nine persons, including a child, were killed and nine others rescued after a portion of a four-decade-old bridge collapsed in Vadodara district on Wednesday morning, officials said.
"The news of the death of several people in a bridge accident in Gujarat's Vadodara district is extremely tragic. I express my deep condolences to the bereaved families. My prayers are that all those injured in this accident recover quickly," Murmu said in a post on X in Hindi.
