(Eds: Rpt after adding intro) Mumbai, Jan 29 (PTI) Twelve blackbucks died and two were injured after they jumped off a road bridge in Solapur district in Maharashtra, a police official said on Sunday.
The incident happened at a bridge in Kegaon on the Solapur-Bijapur highway, around 44 kilometres from here, at 6:30pm on Saturday, he said.
"The blackbucks fell to the ground from a height of 30 feet. Twelve died while two injured blackbucks were rushed to a nearby hospital run by the forest department. Local residents alerted police and forest department officials," he said.
The carcasses have been sent for post mortem and, so far, no foul play is suspected in the incident, the official added. PTI ZA BNM BNM
