Maha: 14 house-breaking cases solved with man's arrest, say Palghar police

Palghar, Jan 28 (PTI) The police in Maharashtra’s Palghar district have solved 14 house-breaking cases following the arrest of a 24-year-old man with a criminal past, an official said on Saturday.

As part of their probe into burglaries in recent times in Virar, the police zeroed in on one Akram Farooque Ansari based on CCTV footage and intelligence inputs, said senior inspector Pramod Badakh of the local Crime Branch.

The police took Ansari, a resident of Raipada in Virar, into custody on Thursday and recovered jewellery and mobile phones worth nearly Rs 3 lakh from him, solving 14 cases, said the official.

During Ansari’s interrogation, the police also learnt that he faces another 10 cases, said the official. PTI COR NR NR NR
