Man killed by unidentified assailants in Jaisalmer, body found in water tank

Jaisalmer, Jul 4 (PTI) A man was killed allegedly by unidentified assailants while he was asleep and his body was dumped in a water tank here, police said on Friday.

The incident took place in the Mohangarh area on Thursday.

Bhajan Lal (35) was sleeping on a cot when unidentified assailants attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon, killing him on the spot, police said.

"The assailants threw the body in a water tank in an agricultural field," they said.

Local farmers found the body floating in the water tank in the evening and informed police.

Nachna Circle Officer Gajendra Singh, along with other police personnel, rushed to the spot. The body has been kept in the mortuary of the Mohangarh hospital for post-mortem, police said.

They said efforts are being made to identify the culprits and ascertain the motive behind the murder. PTI COR SDA ANM DIV DIV
