Man, sons gets life term in murder case

Muzaffarnagar (UP), Jul 1 (PTI) A Muzaffarnagar court has sentenced five persons including a man and his two sons to life imprisonment in a murder case, a government lawyer said on Tuesday. Additional district and sessions judge Rekha Singh on June 30 also imposed a fine of Rs 40,000 on each of the accused --- Vijaypal, his two sons Ajit and Govinda, and two others Saurabh and Ankur after holding them guilty under Sections 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 302 (murder) 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information, to screen offender), 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC. Government lawyer Kamal Kumar on Tuesday told PTI that the village head of Ahroda village Mageram was fatally shot at and later his body was set on fire over old enmity at Ahroda village under Jansath police station in Muzaffarnagar district on July 15, 2015.

The son of the victim subsequently lodged a complaint with the police. PTI NAV AMK AMK
