Many places in Rajasthan receive heavy showers in last 24 hours

Jaipur, Jun 24 (PTI) Many places in Rajasthan witnessed heavy to very heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours due to active monsoon, the MeT department on Tuesday said.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall lashed many places, especially in eastern Rajasthan, till 8.30 am on Tuesday, a MeT department spokesperson said.

The highest rainfall of 180 mm was recorded in Mangrol in Baran district.

Kishanganj in Baran district received about 110 mm rainfall and Shahabad received 170 mm rainfall. Some places in Sawai Madhopur, Dausa, Tonk, Alwar and Jhunjhunu districts received 30 to 60 mm rainfall.

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy or very heavy rains at some places in Kota, Bharatpur and Jaipur divisions on Tuesday.

There is a possibility of increase in thunderstorm and rain activities in some parts of western Rajasthan's Bikaner division during June 25 to 27.

Heavy rain activities will increase again in eastern Rajasthan from June 27 due to formation of a new weather system in the Bay of Bengal in the coming days. PTI AG AS AS
