MLA Kelkar claims unauthorised schools flourishing in Thane

Thane, Jun 27 (PTI) BJP MLA Sanjay Kelkar has claimed that unauthorised schools have mushroomed in Thane city in connivance with government agencies.

He was speaking to the media after meeting representatives of recognised schools on Thursday.

The legislator demanded immediate disconnection of the electricity and water supply to these illegal institutes, calling for strict action against their operators.

Kelkar said the authorities had issued instructions before the start of the academic year to relocate students from unauthorised schools to recognised ones. “However, this directive has been blatantly ignored,” he said.

Parents from underprivileged backgrounds are being duped by these schools, which offer no legitimate academic standing or future for their children, the MLA alleged. PTI COR NR
