Ranchi: The monsoon session of the Jharkhand Assembly will commence from August 1, an official said on Friday.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
"The cabinet approved the proposal of convening the monsoon session of the sixth Jharkhand Legislative Assembly from August 1 to 7. There will be five working days during the session," state cabinet secretary Vandana Dadel said.
The cabinet also approved a six per cent hike in the dearness allowance (DA) of its employees, effective from January 1, she said.
Under the Sixth Central Pay Commission, the employees would receive DA of 252 per cent (of the basic pay) from the existing 246 per cent.
DA for government employees under the Fifth Pay Commission was also hiked, she added.
As many as 27 proposals were approved by the cabinet, including the procurement of four- and two-wheelers for all police stations.
Dadel said a total of 1,255 four-wheelers and 1,697 two-wheelers would be purchased over the course of two financial years.
The cabinet sanctioned Rs 126.38 crore for the purchase of four-wheelers and Rs 20.41 crore for two-wheelers, she added.
