Mumbai: Fire erupts at building in Byculla, dozen people rescued

Mumbai, Jun 21 (PTI) At least 10 to 12 residents were rescued from a two-storey building in Byculla in central Mumbai on Saturday evening after a fire broke out in a ground-floor shop, a civic official said.

The fire was reported at Musa House, opposite Sant Rohidas Garden in Saat Rasta area, at around 6.27 pm.

The blaze was doused after an hour's effort.

Nobody was injured, the official said. Ten to twelve people stranded on the upper floor were safely brought down through the staircase by the fire brigade personnel, he said. PTI KK KRK
