New Delhi: Soon after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik Thursday said that he does not see any possibility of a third-front.

Speaking to media after meeting PM Modi, Patnaik said, "There is no possibility of a Third front as far as I am concerned."

Patnaik, who flew to the national capital on a four-day visit on Wednesday evening, met the prime minister on Thursday.

Patnaik had last met Modi on May 30, 2022, a month before the presidential election.

Patnaik had Tuesday met his Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar. Both the CMs then claimed that no discussion on any political alliance between the JD(U) and BJD for the Lok Sabha elections next year was held in the meeting.

However, Patnaik's sudden visit to Delhi on the next day sparked speculations that the BJD president may meet some opposition leaders who are already in touch with Kumar and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on forming an opposition grouping ahead of the 2024 elections.
