Jaipur, Jul 9 (PTI) Grammy award winner Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, and his son, Satvik Veena creator Pandit Salil Bhatt, performed at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva on Tuesday.
The special concert was organised on July 8 to mark the golden jubilee of cooperation between the World Intellectual Property Organisation and India, with support from the Indian Embassy in Geneva and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
The event witnessed the attendance of diplomats, ministers, and cultural figures from over 190 countries.
According to a statement, the duet titled 'Golden Notes of Mohan Veena and Satvik Veena', performed by the Padma Bhushan awardee, who is a resident of Jaipur, and his son the hall into a sanctum of peace, aiming to spread a message of world harmony through the soulful strains of Indian classical music.
Accompanying the Bhatt duo was tabla maestro Pandit Himanshu Mahant, whose rhythms underscored the emotive dialogue between the instruments and Kutla Khan Manganiyar, whose vibrant regional colour brought alive the spirit of Rajasthani folk melodies, creating a rare confluence of Indian classical, folk, and world music traditions.
