Thane, Jun 18 (PTI) Some portion of a balcony of a dilapidated bungalow collapsed on a car parked in an adjacent building in Makhmali Talao area of Maharashtra's Thane city on Wednesday afternoon, in which no injury was reported, an official said.
The Gandhi Bungalow, a two-storey 50-year-old structure, is located at Jondhali Bagh in Thane west, he said.
The incident occurred around 3.30 pm, Yasin Tadvi, chief of Thane Municipal Corporation's Disaster Management Cell, said.
It is a C2B category property, which means it requires structural repairs that can be carried out without evacuating the residents, he said.
"The portion of the balcony fell on a WagonR car parked in the adjacent Gurukripa Society. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident, but the remaining portion of the gallery is in a highly dangerous condition," Tadvi said, adding that three persons currently reside in the bungalow at present.
"We have directed them to vacate the premises immediately. The owner has assured that he will initiate repairs," he said. PTI COR NP
