Mumbai, Jun 19 (PTI) The Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Thursday mocked the rival Uddhav Thackeray faction for celebrating the party's foundation day, claiming the Thackeray group came into existence only three years ago.

In a cartoon shared on its social media handles, the party took a dig at the Shiv Sena (UBT), questioning how a group that was formed on October 10, 2022, could celebrate the Shiv Sena's 59th foundation day.

The cartoon showed Uddhav Thackeray and Aaditya Thackeray in confusion over the foundation date of their faction, with a reference to the Wikipedia page that mentions the group's establishment in 2022. The post went viral online.

After rebelling against Uddhav Thackeray and splitting the party in June 2022, Eknath Shinde's group won recognition as the real Shiv Sena.
