Siddaramaiah likely to take oath as Karnataka CM on Thursday

New Delhi: Former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah is set to take oath as the chief minister of Karnataka on Thursday afternoon, said sources putting a stamp on NewsDrum's Tuesday report.

A formal announcement is expected at 6 PM today. 

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday met party president Mallikarjun Kharge and conveyed that the choice of the newly elected legislators for the selection of CM.

Siddaramaiah on Wednesday met Gandhi amid hectic parleys in the party to name its chief minister face in the southern state.

Another claimant of the CM post, DK Shivakumar met Gandhi after Siddaramaiah.

However, Shivakumar's role in the new government is yet not clear.

The Congress has held a series of meetings on who will be the chief minister of the state after the party staged a stunning victory in the assembly elections, winning 135 of out 224 seats.
