Deoria (UP), Jul 4 (PTI) The body of a 13-year-old girl from Bihar was found in a village here, police said on Friday.
According to the police, the girl went to her school (in Bihar) at around 9 a.m. on Wednesday. However, she did not return home, and her bag was found on the school premises. Following this, her family lodged a missing report at the Mairwa Police Station in Siwan district, Bihar.
On Thursday evening, police received information that her body had been found in a field beside a road connecting Rampur Bujurg village to the Salempur-Mairwa main road, in the Bankata Police Station area of Uttar Pradesh.
Bankata Station in-charge Naveen Chaudhary and senior officials reached the spot and found that she was wearing a lower and a T-shirt, instead of a school uniform. Her hands and legs were bent, the official added.
Police Circle Officer of Bhatparrani, Shiv Pratap Singh, who also inspected the site, said it appeared that the body was brought from elsewhere and dumped at the location.
The body was sent for post-mortem, and further investigation is underway, police added. PTI COR KIS HIG HIG
