TN CM hospitalised with 'mild giddiness', advised two days' rest

Chennai, Jul 21 (PTI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin was admitted to a private hospital here on Monday after experiencing "mild giddiness" during his morning walk, the hospital said.

He has been advised two days of rest, Deputy Chief Minister and son Udhayanidhi Stalin told reporters, adding that the CM was recovering well.

"Doctors attending to him have advised two days' rest. His hectic schedule over the past two to three months seems to have taken a toll on him," Udhayanidhi said.

When asked about the discharge timeline, he replied, "soon." "He is more concerned about missing today's official events," Udhayanidhi added, after visiting Stalin at the hospital earlier in the day.

Meanwhile, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, during a roadshow in Mannargudi (Tiruvarur district), wished Stalin a speedy recovery.

"I heard that DMK president and Chief Minister M K Stalin has been admitted to hospital and is undergoing treatment. I pray—on my behalf and yours—for his complete recovery," Palaniswami said.

State Water Resources Minister Duraimurugan, who also visited Stalin, told reporters, "The chief minister is doing well. He will return home soon." Stalin was admitted to Apollo Hospital for evaluation of his symptoms, said Dr Anil B G, Director of Medical Services, in a statement, adding that necessary diagnostic tests were being conducted.
