Toddler among 4 killed in Jharkhand road accident

Seraikela, Nov 23 (PTI) Four persons, including a toddler, died when stone chips-laden dumpers fell on them in two incidents in Jharkhand on Sunday, police said.

In Seraikela-Kharswan district, a 30-year-old man and his child were crushed to death when a dumper carrying stone chips fell on their house after the driver lost control, in Kandra police station area early on Sunday, a police officer said.

The incident took place at Polibeda village when Birbal Murmu and his daughter Anushree were asleep, Officer-in-Charge of Kandra police station, Vinod Kumar Murmu, said.

His wife suffered minor injuries in the incident.

In a similar incident in Garwah district, two persons died when a stone chips-laden dumper fell on them on Ranka-Ramkanda Road in the morning, police said.

The truck overturned, killing them on the spot, police said.

The deceased have been identified as Raju Kumar Ravi (22) of Manpur village, and 21-year-old Anil Kumar Ravi.

The accident took place when they were taking part in preparatory activities for the physical test in the police and army. PTI CORR BS RBT
