Two brothers among three boys drown in lake in Gujarat

Rajkot, Jul 17 (PTI) Three boys in the age group of six to eight years, including two siblings, drowned in a lake at a village in Gujarat's Rajkot district on Thursday morning, police said.

The incident took place in Padariya village in Jamkandorna taluka when the victims went to take bath in the lake, a Jamkandorna police station official said.

Soon after the boys entered the water body, they drowned in it. Local swimmers helped retrieve their bodies, he said.

A team, including the mamlatdar (local revenue officer) and police personnel, reached the spot and shifted their bodies to the civil hospital for post-mortem, according to the official.

The deceased were identified as Bhavesh Dangi (6), his brother Hitesh (8) and Nitesh Mavi (7), he said. PTI COR KA NP
