UP: Couple commits suicide by jumping in front of train in Moradabad

Moradabad (UP), Jun 19 (UP) A young couple allegedly jumped in front of a goods train near the Moradabad-Chandausi railway line, police said on Thursday.

It appears to be suicide but family members are being asked about the circumstances that led to the incident, they said.

Both of them were residents of the same village that comes under the jurisdiction of Bilari police station.

The girl, 16, had recently passed her Class 12 exams. The other deceased was working in a factory in Moradabad. The 20-year-old was staying with his elder brother having recently returned to his village.

Superintendent of Police (rural) Akash Singh, "The duo left their homes late at night and reached the railway line around 1 am." Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and an investigation is underway.

"Preliminary findings suggest it appears to be a case of suicide. We are currently asking the family members of the deceased to understand the circumstances that led to this incident," the SP said. PTI COR CDN SKY SKY
