UP: Jhansi man sentenced to 20 years in jail for raping stepdaughter

Jhansi (UP), Oct 30 (PTI) A court in Jhansi district on Thursday sent a man to prison for 20 years for raping his 14-year-old stepdaughter multiple times by threatening her.

A fine of Rs 50,000 was also imposed on the convict, the case lawyer said.

Special Public Prosecutor Vijay Singh Kushwaha said the FIR was lodged at the Lahchura police station on August 29, 2021.

Police then arrested the accused, and he has been in jail since then, the lawyer said. PTI COR KIS NSD NSD
