Farrukhabad (UP), Jan 30 (PTI) An 18-year-old man allegedly committed suicide here by hanging himself from a tree, a day before his engagement, police said on Monday.
The deceased, identified as Ankit was a resident of Mokulpur village of Amritpur police station area, who allegedly ended his life by hanging from a tree on Sunday, they said.
According to the family members, Ankit, an intermediate student, was going to get engaged on Monday, police said.
The deceased, who had returned to his village around 2 pm after shopping, received a call after which he left his home. Later his body was found hanging from a tree, police said.
CO Nagar Pradeep Kumar said the police reached the spot upon getting the information, adding, investigation is underway to find the reason behind the incident.
The body has been sent for postmortem, police said. PTI COR SAB FZH
