Woman dies after 'accidentally' consuming grain fumigant

Thane, Dec 9 (PTI) A 54-year-old woman died after she "accidentally" consumed a highly toxic fumigant kept at her home in Thane for grain protection, police said.

Police have registered a case of accidental death.

"Preliminary inquiry indicates that the substance was kept in the house for fumigation of stored grains. The woman consumed it unknowingly. We are conducting a detailed probe to confirm all circumstances," a police officer said. PTI COR NSK
