Woman killed in hit-and-run in Thane

Thane, Jul 13 (PTI) A 21-year-old woman was killed after an unidentified vehicle rammed into her scooter in Maharashtra's Thane city, traffic police said on Sunday.

The accident occurred at Nagla Bandar around 10 pm on Saturday, an official said.

He said the victim, Ghazal Tuteja, a resident of Ghodbunder Road, was riding a scooter when an unidentified vehicle rammed into it from behind.

The woman died on the spot, and personnel from the Kasarwadavli police station sent the body for post-mortem, the official said.

A case has been registered, and a probe is underway to trace the errant vehicle, police said. PTI COR ARU
