New Delhi, Jul 17 (PTI) Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Thursday said once the Yamuna floodplain restoration projects are completed, the sites would become "global attractions" that would transform Delhi.
Accompanied by his wife Sudesh Dhankhar, the vice president visited the green spaces developed by the Delhi Development Authority along the Yamuna floodplains. Delhi Lieutenant General V K Saxena accompanied them and briefed them on the progress of the projects.
"The (Yamuna) Vatika coupled with Baansera will be the main attraction for Delhi and outside. The work done by LG Saxena is a game-changing work," the vice-president said.
'Baansera' is the city's first Bamboo theme park spread over an area of approximately 10 hectares in the Yamuna floodplains.
In a post on X, the L-G said, "My heartfelt thanks for the words of encouragement. The VP's presence would accelerate Delhi's march towards sustainability and green excellence and motivate people to become stakeholders in protecting and preserving our ancient heritage -- the Yamuna."
