In a recent tweet, Anand Mahindra called Qatar’s promotional post for FIFA ‘cheap’ and netizens didn’t quite approve of it. Within a few minutes of the tweet posted by Anand Mahindra, the comment section was filled with mixed comments from the Netizens.

The tweet posted by the chairman of Mahindra reads “FIFA & Qatar will end up spending millions on promotional videos/advertising for the World Cup. I don’t think any of that will infect people with excitement as much as this cheap & cheerful video that authentically communicates what football means to the world.”

It is very clear from his tweet, that he wasn’t really calling this promotional technique cheap, instead, he was just trying to say that FIFA and Qatar can spend millions on their advertising but people will still love to see cheerful videos through which the talents of localities can be portrayed. But using the word ‘cheap’ was clearly not the right way to go about it.
After his tweet, Twitteratis straight away called him out for using the word ‘cheap’, some politely commented on his post saying “Sir, in every tweet your intentions are good. Instead of CHEAP, Low Budget or economical can be used”.
