India reach 23/0 as rain halts play on day one

Ahmedabad, Oct 2 (PTI) Rain halted play in the third session as India reached 23 for no loss in reply to West Indies' 162 all out on the opening day of the first Test here on Thursday.

KL Rahul reached 18 not out off 40 balls while Yashasvi Jaiswal made a patient 36-ball four not out as India began their reply after play resumed in the third session.
