Kathmandu, Jun 24 (PTI) Nepal's House of Representatives on Tuesday endorsed the government’s annual budget for the fiscal year 2025–26 through a majority vote, clearing the way for the execution of the Rs 1.964 trillion budget plan.
Speaker of the lower House Devraj Ghimire, who chaired the meeting, declared that the Appropriation Bill had been passed through a voice vote with a majority support.
The budget must be endorsed by at least 238 of the total 275 members in the House of Representatives (HoR).
Before the endorsement, lawmakers had completed a clause-by-clause discussion.
Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel tabled the government income-expenditure plan last month. Nepal's new fiscal year begins in mid-July. PTI SBP GRS GRS GRS
